Lou wrote: This set was a little different too, as the
SOS reproductions were small in relation to the stamp size, but when I happily
found all the actual stamps in my old world wide album (I bet more of these
stamps went into kids albums then were ever used on mail), I saw that the
designer had reproduced them in size proportion to each other, scaled to the
giraffe triangle. The colors are all changed, too.
I found an interesting error on #s 972 and 974— the
issue years of the two reproduced stamps are incorrect—Nyassa #55 was issued in
1911, not 1924 and Nyassa #J2 was issued in 1924, not 1901.

Lou Wrote: When I first looked at red sos on the
letter, I thought it was a stamp from early Thailand, but a quick check showed
that was wrong, so I tried South America and also came up with Argentina
#547-9, However, when I "cut out" the sos, rotated and enlarged
it and compared it to a scan of # 547 there were still differences which
bothered me. No matter how much I shrank the 547 scan, I couldn't get the
area behind San Martin's head to become a solid like on the sos and the round frame
around him on the stamp comes to a point on the sos. I thought I would
ultimately get a higher res scan of the s/s where I could "see" the
sos better, and so I held off sending the #547 ID.
Since you came up with the same ID, I was
probably nit-picking the differences which are probably just blurring caused by
the printing method.

I'm attaching the sos/scan comparison I made so
you can see what I was looking at, and a better scan of # 547 to use on your
site when you add this issue.
