Note
for Lou: The U.S. stamp is some kind of fantasy issue—it’s good looking, but
the U.S. postal service will not pay any international organization like WWF
and the Olympics to use their logos,
so that’s a give-away. The Stamperija "designer" took the artist's art project from an online site and used it without permission or giving credit.

Then
I went on-line to the Cherrystone Auctions site and scrolled

The
stamp is one of two issued in 1912, and they are unusual, in that they are the
only Zemstvos that were a commemorative issue, and the only Zemstvos with a
multi-color picture. The two stamps reproduce illustrations from a book
commemorating the centenary of the War of 1812. Chuchin # 9a reproduces

The

Stamperija just loves WWF issues. These are
usually recognized as legitimate issues by Scott and other major catalogs,
so I advise on them. Enjoy or ignore, as you will.
Personally, I stopped acquiring these pre-Covid, not because of
their plentiful issues and delivery problems, but because Stamperija started
dumping the leftover stocks of older issues and they are being sold at a
fraction of their original cost. I don't buy stamps
as an investment, but I considered myself a careful buyer, and now I see that
paying new issue prices on something that will sell in the future for 25% or
less of that amount is not something I will do. If I was a lot younger,
and did want Stamperija issues, I would just wait for them to be dumped, like I did with "Sand Dune" and Iron Curtain
Europe issues. I learned a long, long time ago, that no one could have
everything in a collection, but something always comes along to add to it.
Tho not buying them, I can still
have some fun with these issues, identifying and hunting down the scans for
them. I have most, and am now scouring my catalogs for the Scott's
numbers.

wrote: Incredibly, Stamperija has gone to the almost
dry well again, and issued another series of s/s to commemorate the 1948 Olympic
Games. Supposedly, on April 20, 2023, Guinea Bissau issued one 3v s/s and
two 1v s/s to note the 75th Anniversary of the 14th
Olympic Games. They repeated stamps and labels already shown on the issues of
Sierra Leone and Guinea, but finally added some 1948 stamps not shown
previously.

this s/s for the first time on its site as "Sold Out" and
unavailable. Prior to the "new Issue": announcement, dealers are
notified of a pending release, and as had happened many times in the past,
Chinese dealers bought up all the stock. This is just another
terrible example of Stamperija as a business and not
a stamp supplier to collectors. So far, it has not been
offered on the internet by any of the usual dealers in Stamperija materials. It is also sad that their site could
not even translate the Portuguese inscription on the s/s properly--the site
reads "Chinese Philately Jewelry" instead of "Jewel of Chinese
Philately".
I
do not understand why the s/s was issued in such drab colors with added imperfections, it looks like it was printed on a piece of
wood. It is a shame, as the actual SoS
is a beautiful stamp. The Sc # 628 s/s is a very
expensive stamp, and sells for 10s of thousands of dollars online.

a Stamperija query, and overnight too!
"Yes, GB230719b is wooden stamp".
