Centenary of First Saudi Stamp 1344-1444 AH

 Inside #????: Saudi Arabia Hejaz-Nejd #79O (1926)

Lou wrote: Saudi Arabia Hejaz-Nejd Sc # 79, one of twelve stamps issued in February and  March 1926. The inscription in the upper panel translates to Barid (Posts) of the Hejaz and Nejd. The Saudis of Nejd had finally conquered Hejaz in 1925 and these stamps with the combined names are considered the first Saudi Arabia stamps.

The 1344-1444 AH (Anno Hejira) centenary corresponds to mid 1925-mid 2026 CE, so the centenary commemoration is a bit early for some reason known only to the Saudis.
